Colours this autumn

Join me on a little walk through the experimental farm. It is not just a farm though, there are many special places to explore. On Thanksgiving it was breezy and bright, and we went for a walk through the arboretum.
This golden maple glowed with rich intense colours and the leaves drift down creating a carpet of golds.

There are formal gardens too where the plants have great contrasts of colour and texture.

And plumes of grasses everywhere, now in full glory swaying in the wind.

Lots of berries everywhere. Black and red berries for the birds this winter.

And these fall asters in the organic gardens were buzzing with bees. Hundreds of bees all around enjoying the feast.

My favourites were these beds of swiss chards, entire beds just bursting with reds, oranges and greens.

These black berries looked like olives to me, and the constrast with the oranges was too good to resist.
There is in extraordinary quality to the light right now, as if mother nature is sending out a big burst of colour before the snows arrive.
I wish it would last a long time.
